Caged Lace

Queen Anne’s pen

First time I’ve seen Queen Anne’s Lace dead and closed. Usually prior to full bloom the flower is like a closed fist. When it exposes its flowers it opens up flat. The way this flower withered away looks like a cage, a strange and wonderful look. You’ll probably find plenty of pictures of the plant in full bloom elsewhere, so I’ve given you the other extreme here! Nature is amazing in giving life as well as taking it.
