I’m hearing earth tones

This area has been prone to floods as far back as I can remember, but that hasn’t stopped them from building houses, apartment complexes and warehouses on the edge of this area. A lot of money has been put into this area for flood control. This “oxbow” part of the Little Calumet River has been set aside of the flow of the straightened river and developed into a nice nature park. Within seconds of being there you can watch nature in its splendor and forget that there is a major, and loud, highway 100 feet away! I’m assuming since the oxbow part is not part of the direct flow of the river it must make a better area for algae growth. Yes, that’s a river you are looking at!
