How often can one step up and touch a piece of world-class art? In Chicago it is quite easy and within the space of two blocks you can get up close and personal with the art of Jean Dubuffet, Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró. The above sculpture is Monument with Standing Beast by Jean Dubuffet. It is just amazing to be able to be close enough to actually touch these works without the worry that a museum guard will be yelling at you. Sculpture is tactile and few viewers get the chance to have that expressed feeling.
Located outside the James R. Thompson Center at Clark and Randolph.
